Angus has gained over 27 years’ oil field experience; commencing in 1997 with three years as a Service Hand for a coring company (Corpro Systems Ltd) working in the Far East, Middle East and the North Sea, both onshore and offshore. He then joined the Santa Fe Well Engineering training scheme which he completed in 2004 with the attainment of Chartered Engineer status through the IOM3 and subsequently the attainment of Chartered Scientist status in 2005. In early 2005, Angus left ADTI (a division of GlobalSantaFe formed post-merger between Santa Fe and Global Marine) to form Springbok Drilling Ltd with the intention of providing Drilling Engineering services through Contract Positions. Through the success of this move, Springbok Drilling Ltd has now been providing contract Drilling Engineering and Well Site Supervisory services since 2005 in both the UK and Norwegian sectors, as well as a short stint in Mozambique as night DSV.
Springbok Drilling Ltd currently has three contracts active:
NRG Well Examination for the provision of Well Examination services and well Insurance Risk Reviews for insurance under-writers. The provision of Well Examination has focused on the UK sector, both onshore and offshore for both appraisal, side track development well drilling as well as platform decommissioning at End of Field Life, and abroad for various Operators for exploration and development drilling offshore.
Well Safe Solutions in a part-time manner in an advisory role. Through this contract, Springbok Drilling Ltd has reviewed and commented on various P&A programs, as well as supporting the development of the Graduate Training Program. However, the primary aspect of this contract has been to support the Well Safe Solutions Competency Management System through assessing of the WSS staff Decommissioning Engineers.
